I feel like I channeled my inner Patty, whose motto seems to be “why make one when you can make 100”. I started the potholders mostly because I needed new ones but I also like to keep a few around for gifts. When I started I just found some fabrics I liked and started cutting. I didn’t count.

I finished all of them yesterday and the final count is an absurd 48! I’ve already gifted one set but I have lots left for gifts for the next 5 years, at least. Some are going with me on vacation to gift to our hosts and I’ll pull a few for us to use. Still, this is insane, but they are like potato chips. You can’t make just can’t make jsut one.

Let’s look at some of the fabrics.

I bought these fabrics to give to my family at the beach next summer. There are 2 sets of each one.

I made 2 sets of each of these but I didn’t have enough main fabric for pockets for all of them. So some of the sets have different pockets.

This next set is for my niece. She picked this fabric.

These came from my vast symmetry fabric stash. These are propbably my personal favorites of the collection.

The dotty fabric, which I love, is a vintage fabric. The wildlife fabric is from my black/white/gray stash. When I was finishing these up I realized that I made one of them without both layers of batting. I was able to scrounge up enough scraps to put together one more potholder to make a complete set.

These plaids were a bad fabric choice. The are some Kaffe wovens and not really stable enough for this kind of sewing. They turned out OK but I wouldn’t use them again for this project.

My absolute favorite, favorite of the group are these dragonfly ones.

These are the ones that I pulled from my batik collection. I think they are very happy.

Finally, I bought this cat fabric at the beach and I bought it specifically with my sister-in-law in mind. Sadly, we lost her last week. I’m not going to say much about that except that the family is very sad and are all focused on my brother and supporting him as best we can.

The cats are still cute and she would have loved them. Eventually, I’ll get them to my brother.

These are my last projects before we leave Thursday. I have a couple of postcards to make but we are focused on leaving chores and packing.
