Wanda mentioned on her blog that she felt like October went by fast. I agree. I don’t know where this month went. I didn’t travel anywhere but I did have whatever virus that’s going around right now.
My goals for October were:
- paint the guest house
- quilt 6 or more veterans quilts
- start the Christmas postcards
- finish the fish quilt top
- get kiln fixed
- progress quilting on Eclipse
I didn’t get much of that done but I did other things. One surprise project was organizing our photos and throwing out most of them. This project came out of the painting that we’ve been doing. I took down some narrow photo shelves and decided to get a digital frame instead. I uploaded photos from my phone and then started looking at the paper photos that we have. That project took most of the last week but I’m thrilled to have thrown away a whole garbage bag full of photos and what I have left fit into 1 acid free box. That box and the wedding album is all that’s left in the top of this once full shelf.

Now that those photos are done, I’m considering buying another frame for my sewing room and uploading photos of all the things I’ve made. I have a whole box in there with photos of things I’ve made but I don’t ever look at them. I have photos on my laptop of things I’ve made since about 2010 and I don’t look at those either. I think it would be fun to have them on a dedicated digital frame.
But I also got some normal projects done too:

I finished a crochet baby blanket, a veterans quilt, 2 placemats and a large quilt. I also got the fish quilt top made and quilted the Monty quilt. I need to get it bound before the end of November. It will be donated to the Montpelier Center for the Arts for their 2027 raffle quilt.

Of course, there were a few veterans quilts too

November looks to be a busy month. These are the things that I really need to finish this month:
- finish Monty
- quilt 6 veterans quilts
- make about 80 Christmas cards
- finish painting the guest house
- blow leaves almost every day
- finish the baby fish quilt top
- make a baby quilt for a baby that arrived this weekend, 6 weeks early!
