Continue reading →: It was the thread!I procrastinated revisiting the longarm until after dinner. Instead I worked on the postcards that I can’t share yet. Once I got back to the longarm I went through the steps methodically to see if I could find the problem. I double checked tension, rethreaded the machine, treated the thread…

Continue reading →: The weekendIt was an unusually social weekend for me and, I admit, I enjoyed it. I wore a dress for the first time in years. We attended my college roommate’s son’s wedding. Cheryl got to invite 4 “friend” couples. Three of us went to college together and we had a great…

Continue reading →: A good dayFriday was quite productive around here. I started the day by getting the binding on this veterans quilt. This quilt proves that even the ugliest fabric can be beautiful if cut small enough. The star fabric is one of the ugliest fabrics that I ever dyed but, cut into small…

Continue reading →: Cricut and crochetI had a nice change of pace yesterday by getting a little play time on the Cricut. I had 4 shirts left to do for Cora. I had to do one for her to wear on this special 4th of July and 3 others just for fun. Now, aside from…

Chris and I are still speaking, the house hasn’t burned down and we eventually got this light put up in the basement. At least we didn’t have to find joists behind drywall. Someone needs to make ceiling lights that are easier to install. What an incredible pain in the neck!…

Continue reading →: Starting the next veterans quiltsI don’t have much to share today. All I got done yesterday was to load the next 2 veterans quilts. Instead of quilting, we went to see a Bananaball baseball game. The teams that played were the Firefighters and Clowns. Have you been to or watched a Bananaball game? I…

Continue reading →: April Accomplishments and May PlansI ended April by quilting 2 veterans quilts. The one on the left was made by Ellen and she gave me permission to add a border. I think this rusty orange worked out well. The one on the right was made by Peg. Peg shared this pattern with me a…

Continue reading →: April AudiobooksApril was a very fine month of reading, although a little heavy with a couple of long books and one heavy topic. My favorite book was probably The Boonerang. DNF:The Book Thief by Markus Zusak – I couldn’t take the narrator’s coice What were your favorite reads of April? The…
Hello,
I’m Vicki
I’m Vicki Welsh and I’ve been making things as long as I can remember. I used to be a garment maker but transitioned to quilts about 20 years ago. Currently I’m into fabric dyeing, quilting, Zentangle, fabric postcards, fused glass and mosaic. I document my adventures here.
