I didn’t post anything yesterday because I didn’t have much to show for the weekend. Mom and I had a great trip to visit family in Chesapeake and Newport News. We visited my oldest brother (of 3) and my nephew’s family on Saturday. I had the best time playing with my Grand niece who is almost 3 and an absolute delight. On Sunday we visited my niece and her fiancé in their new home. Her Dad (my youngest brother) and my SIL were also there. I think Mom and I were both tired by the time we got home but we had a greattime.
I only did 2 creative things on this trip. I pretended to cook cookies that looked shockingly like dominoes and I added a couple of inches to my travel blanket in the hotel Saturday night.

Yesterday I finished the trim painting in the guest house bedroom. You can see the difference in this photo of one painted and one unpainted door. It’s all bright white now.

I was going to start to put the bathroom back together and realized how bad the towel and paper holders looked. I really didn’t want to spend money on new ones. Instead I got some Krylon metallic paint and painted them.

I’m so happy with how the turned out that I’m considering painting the bathroom mirror frame.

This mirror came from my Grandmother’s house when she died. It’s not valuable or precious and it’s looking kind of ratty. A layer of paint might be just what it needs.
I did get started on some quilting after dinner.

I picked the thread and got one row done. I’m going to try to finish these today between appointments so that I can deliver them tonight at quilt club.
