Voting day is very long when you work elections. In my county we have to arrive at 5am and we don’t get out until about 8pm. Polls close at 7 and it takes about an hour to close out the machines, put the equipment and tables away and organize all the paperwork. It’s a very long day but also fun. I’ve always had really nice people to work with and I get to see my neighbors who come in to vote.
This was a primary so turnout was low. We had 219 voters out of 1500 registered. Some will have also voted early. Virginia has the longest early voting period at 45 days. In my opinion that’s unnecessarily long, a huge burden on the registrars office and unnecessarily expensive for the taxpayers. Given the current schedule, there will be overlapping elections in 2028. I’m glad it isn’t my problem to solve.
Tuesday, as I said, was slow but that’s just an opportunity to do some crochet. When I started the blanket looked like this.

From a time perspective I could have done more but you can only put your hands through so much in a day.
Yesterday I started the dat at the chiropractor getting straightened out from sitting in plastic school chairs for 15 hours.
After that I got the last 2 veterans quilts loaded and started.
Today will involve more quilting and potholders and I’ll start some vacation packing planning.
