I am on a Sisyphean mission to eradicate my yard of invasive Russian Olive trees. Last year I cleared a mini grove and now I’m working around all the edges. We have 10 acres so I don’t expect to win the battle but I’m making progress. All that to say that I spent half of Saturday with my mini chainsaw. It was very hot and sweaty work and I spent the rest of the day just cooling off and watching football.
I did a little crochet during the games and made some progress on the Virginia Tech baby blanket.
It’s coming right along. I have 3 and a half sections left to do before the border.
On Sunday I also watched a lot of football but got in the sewing room to work on the fish quilt.
All of the columns are done and I’ve “mathed” out the sashing. I should get started on that today unless I decide to load a quilt on the longarm.
I’ve spent way too much time worrying about a backing for Fleurette. I don’t have quite enough of the pieces that I pulled last week so I started rooting around the stash for other fabrics to add. But then I found this dyed gradient back that’s been in the stash for years.
I really wasn’t thinking about using a gradient but I think I might be able to get away with this one. It actually looks good with the binding.
