The new machine

The new machine

After 2 days of sewing with my new machine I  can report that sometimes I make mistakes cutting out my veterans quilt kits. Also, I  love the new machine, a Necchi C32e. It’s a nice lightweight machine for travel. It has a bonus feature of an integrated walking foot.

I haven’t had that on a machine since my Pfaff 7550 and I’ve missed it. The patent on it must have expired so other brands can use it.

This kit is the last one that I cut and I was clearly fatigued because I made mistakes and didn’t leave good notes.

I got this block together only to realize that this isn’t a block. The blocks is the center, the edges are sashing.

It’s recoverable  and hopefully this chicken scratch will make sense of to me next month.

At home construction is still underway but should be done by Monday. But we can start a little of the paint prep work this weekend.

Around the yard nature continues to outperform this year. The fawn is still around and is well attended by the doe. Yesterday evening we had this visitor on the back porch.

I think it’s a young one. It was skittish,  not aggressive.

This weekend I want to get the scrap quilt top done, do some quilting on Eclipse and make dog beds.

it is easy to mess up a square when printed out like that. I always print out several and then try to outline like you did to make sure where a block is and where the sashing starts! love seeing the wildlife
