Eclipse Scraps Quilt

It’s so nice to have one of my own quilts finished, even if it’s a small one. This is made from the scraps of my Eclipse quilt that is yet to be quilted. Eclipse is foundation pieced and there were a lot of small triangle shaped cut-off bits. I made a stack of crumb blocks before I even started thinking about a layout. With the leftover orange and pink streaky fabrics, I framed each block. I had a lot of the dark blue leftover and less of the 2 lighter blues. The amount of fabric determined the final layout.

I used a purple thread for quilting the feather pattern.

The backing is a streaky hand dyed blue.

I’m rally happy with this one and Mom suggested the perfect home for it. This quilt will go to Hanover Safe Place, our local domestic violence support organization. They are always happy to get our quilts.

Now I need to get the Eclipse quilt quilted and get it on the guest room bed.

In other news, we have another Bluebird nest and we hope to have new babies soon after we get back from vacation. We are also seeing the white skunk every day! Often in the morning and evening. Yesterday we also saw a family of groundhogs with 3 babies playing in the yard.
