Bears are cut out

I don’t have a lot to share today. We’ve ben relaxing and hanging out with friends. We have friends from Charlottesville who spend all winter here. Bill and Laurie are the ones who introduced us to Tucson. But this week some other friends from DC, Matt and Anne have been in town. Chris and Matt got to play some golf. Laurie, Anne and I checked out the Tucson Museum of Art. It a wonderful gallery space with lots of different kinds of art with special exhibits of indigenous art. We really enjoyed it and also enjoyed a visit to a local yarn shop.

I only took one photo to show that anything can be a canvas.

Yesterday was a rainy day. They call it rain here. At home we call it light showers. But it was a good excuse to cut out the bear blocks for the Monty quilt.

Today I’m going with Laurie to a lecture on native rugs. It’s supposed to rain today too so that will be a great excuse to stay inside and sew in the afternoon.

I’m Vicki

I’m Vicki Welsh and I’ve been making things as long as I can remember. I used to be a garment maker but transitioned to quilts about 20 years ago. Currently I’m into fabric dyeing, quilting, Zentangle, fabric postcards, fused glass and mosaic. I document my adventures here.
