Yesterday was spent mostly running errands and visiting a friend. I needed boxes for some gifts and a birthday gift for a friend, followed by regular grocery shopping. Before I left, though, I received the final delivery of clothes for the memory quilt. It was enough for me to decide that I’ll frame the blocks in khaki colors. In the evening I started taking the first pair of pants apart. I’m taking pockets off to save them for a different project. But, through this I have developed a thorough understanding of the value of Carhart clothing. This stuff is made like iron and must last forever! Taking those pockets off was quite a task. I’m glad I did these first. The rest will be much easier.

I thought I’d add in a little crochet update. I had to halt the progress on the big quilt. I ran out of the gray yarn. There was no more to be had which is a risk when you only buy yarn on sale. That yarn color was discontinued a long time ago but I ordered a gray heather that should blend in fine. Meanwhile, I’ve been working on this wheelchair blanket and it will be done in the next couple of days.
Finally, I had to wrap gifts for delivery tomorrow. That means that I’ll be able to share what I made for my friends tomorrow.
