I know it’s getting repetitive, but we really are having an idyllic vacation. The weather couldn’t be more perfect. Yesterday, Chris was away on a charter river fishing trip, so I had the day to myself. I wanted to start with a good walk, so I headed down the street to the local cemetery. I can’t find any history about it. I know it’s still active and owned by the town. This engraving seems to indicate that it was founded in 1914, but I found lots of graves dated to the 1800s. The oldest that I found was a child who died in 1843. There may be older ones. I didn’t look at all of them, and I only walked half of it.

Here’s why it’s called Lakeview.
It was a nice walk because the property is hilly.

Aside from the Bass family (the shoe people), probably the most famous person buried here is Sylvia Hardy, the Maine Giantess. We visited a museum Saturday that had one of her dresses on a custom mannequin. She was about 7 feet tall! You can read about her in the link

After breakfast, I got back to sewing and finished up the B1 blocks. These go on the left side of the A blocks. Next, I’ll work on the B2 blocks for the right side.

After all that sewing, it was kayaking time. There wasn’t a breath of wind, so the water was a perfect mirror. I was the only person on the lake. I cooled off with a float in the lake and then talked with my third brother. He had a bad bike encounter with a deer Monday and got beat up pretty bad. Fortunately, he had invested in the best helmet he could get, and it saved his life. This isn’t the first freak accident he’s had in his life. I think he’s actually a cat with 9 lives.

Before bed last night, I got the B2 papers ready to start sewing today. I fold all of the sewing lines. It makes trimming much easier.
I don’t know what we’re doing today, but we are being blessed with more spectacular weather.
