The Fish

Yesterday I mostly did yard work. After a month away the weeds have run amok. It will take a couple of weeks to get it under control again. After a session on the driveway and around the pond, I was pretty wiped out.

But I had enough energy to make a postcard and to work on the fish a little.  I got all of the horizontal sashing arranged and sewed the first column.

This postcard is for my niece and her fiancé. They moved into their first home this week.

Today and tomorrow I’ll be sewing with my quilt club so I’ll be starting a new veterans quilt.

Love the fish quilt and the wonky house postcard!

getting back to the garden is hard to do sometimes isn’t it – especially if it was dry. When the weather cools off a little I will water the garden for two or three days for a couple hours each time to let it soak in and then get busy trying to weed – but I will need to soak it for sure first.

It has been so hot that my weed whacking has fallen behind.
    Fishes are looking good.

I bet they will love that postcard. The fish blocks are looking good with the horizontal sashing added.

Weeds: a plant that grows 3 times faster than any of our chosen plants. I’m not sure any of us will ever be ahead of them.
