Yesterday it rained all day. It was still beautiful and relaxing but we stayed in all day.

I started by making everyone a big pancake breakfast with bacon and fried potatoes. They all enjoyed my gluten-free pancakes so I can highly recommend the King Arthur gluten-free pancake mix.

The rest of the day I sewed and crocheted.

I’m liking the Virginia Tech blanket more and more as it comes together. I need to focus on the hats a little to get them finished for delivery next week.

The quilt blocks are coming together 2 at a time. There are only 6 to go.

Last evening we had a surprise visit from the daughter of another friend.  She was in town with a florist doing flowers for a wedding and remembered that we were here. It was a fun diversion for the evening.

Today I’m hoping to get out for some kayaking.  The others are going to do a long carriage trail walk. I can’t do long walks on flat surfaces without a lot of hip pain. Hiking uneven surfaces is best for me. I think I’ll go fabric shopping while they walk.

I’m Vicki

I’m Vicki Welsh and I’ve been making things as long as I can remember. I used to be a garment maker but transitioned to quilts about 20 years ago. Currently I’m into fabric dyeing, quilting, Zentangle, fabric postcards, fused glass and mosaic. I document my adventures here.
