Yesterday I didn’t sew one stitch. It was mostly a day of exercise and kayaking and fabric shopping.
There’s a local fabric store that I visit every time I visit here. This year we learned that the owner is retiring and closing the store later this month. I decided that I needed to take advantage of the sale and to help her reduce inventory.
I saw these batiks last year and didn’t buy them because I wasn’t sure what to do with them.

They are obviously all from the same collection. I bought a lot of them. I can easily get a queen sized quilt if I want. Now I’ll start looking for some ideas.
I also stocked up on some gray and black for general purposes. Plus one other fabric that will probably be for more potholders.

In the afternoon I went out to kayak. It was perfect on the water.

I went into a cove and unknowingly flushed a Great Blue Heron. It flew over to someone’s boat and I hope it didn’t poo in there. It eventually moved to the dock and then flew off.

The evening was misty and pretty on the lake.
Today we’re off for another new hike.
