Yesterday was too breezy for being on the water so Chris, Ian and I headed out for a hike.
But I’ll start with the afternoon because I finally got started on the feedsack quilt blocks. Here are the first 2.
They aren’t pressed yet but I think they turned out pretty cute. This pattern doesn’t have sashing. There are a lot of pieces and I have to be very careful about the orientation and the diagonal seams. I’ve already made one mistake.
I think it will be a cute quilt.
We all worked out pretty hard Wednesday so we decided to take it a little easy yesterday and headed to the Land and Garden Preserve. It’s not part of Acadia National Park but it’s adjacent and the trails meet up between the two. We hiked the Jordan Path next to Little Long Pond and returned on a carriage trail.
This is a fun hike because of the variety of surfaces and the view of the lake.
We last hiked this in 2022 and one of the cool features was a chainsaw sculpture in a tree stump. It had just been done about an hour before we saw it.

It was foggy when we started our hike but the sun was coming out by the time we finished.

I did stay up past midnight to watch the lunar eclipse. It was very cool.
It looks like today will be showery so I forsee some sewing and lots of relaxing
