My blog posting is going to be erratic this week. We have an additional guest and are doing more things.
The week started overcast and rainy. We didn’t mind. Laura and I did a little shopping. We both got some fabric and she bought yarn for to knit a new bag.
This was the sunset a couple of nights ago

I will set up the sewing station tomorrow afternoon after a morning kayak. I’ve been having too much to do much but, in the evenings, I’ve done some crochet.
Two and a half more hats are done. I have enough yarn left for about 6 or 8 more.

I also started the Virginia Tech baby blanket. I’m using Premier Everyday DK yarn and I’m loving it so far. This is going to be a really soft blanket.

Those colors aren’t quite accurate. The red is truly a maroon red.
On the hiking front, this morning we hiked Bald Peak and Parkman Mountain. It’s a great hike with about 900′ in elevation gain with a payoff of spectacular views. Here’s a video that Win took, clearly without my awareness. In the video you’ll see Chris in the white shirt, Ian in blue and me bent over my backpack desperately searching for a snack.
The cool thing about this hike is that there’s a little bit of everything: roots sections, rocky sections, boulders to scramble (or slide down on my bum) and steep rocky scrambles. There’s a good balance of sun exposure and shade.

Tomorrow is kayaking day while Chris and Ian are off on a charter fishing expedition. I’ll also set up the sewing station.
