We are settled on Mount Desert Island.

This is truly our happy place and we are excited to have our friends from England here with us.

It was overcast and cloudy today but we got a hike in before the rain started.  We have a tradition of starting with a hike on Beech Mountain.  It’s close to us, only about 2.5 miles and has a good variety of terrain and elevation. It gives us a chance to warm up and self-assess as we plan the rest of our hikes.

We also get a great view.

I haven’t set up my sewing station but I did put the final stitches in the blanket before we left Wilton.

This is a wheelchair size blanket and finished to about 26 x 36. I did call a local charity and they said they would be happy to have this blanket and all the hats I get made so I can drop them off before we head home. A little less bulk to pack would be very good!

I don’t have my stitch notes with me but I hope I can find them at home. I really like this one. It’s basically a cluster stitch of SC, CH, DC all stitched into the previous row’s SC.

I will want to make this one again.

Tomorrow (Sunday), it’s going to be rainy in the morning but that won’t interfere with Laura and me doing some fabric shopping.
