We had quite a nice weekend here. Chris and I, both, got in a lot of yard work between rain storms. Our drought is well over. I got out my favorite mini chainsaw and cleared as much of the jungle as I could around the pond. I tend to test the max capabilities on this and eventually bent the chain bar.
I’ve already picked up a new bar and will be back in destruction mode later this week. Russian Olives are my main target. I’ve cut down at least 8 so far and there are lots more to go. I absolutely love this Stihl GTA 26.
It was very hot, humid and sweaty outside so I was happy to spend the rest of the weekend inside.
I got 2 more veterans quilts quilted!
I don’t know who made this one but I think it’s a clever way to use scraps. I worked it up in EQ so I would remember it the next time that I cut quilt kits.
The next one was made by Gwendolyn. I like this one a lot too.
I have some large print symmetry fabrics that would work great in this pattern.
There are two more quilts already loaded. After that, only 2 more!
During quilting breaks I made 5 sets of Potholders.
And made progress on the crochet wheelchair blanket.
This blanket will probably get finished in Maine. My next project is a baby blanket, due in December. I had to order special yarn for it (Virginia Tech colors). It arrived Saturday so it will go to Maine too.
I’ll finish quilting the 2 veterans quilts today before I go to help set up the voting precinct this afternoon. We have a primary tomorrow and I expect it to be a very slow one based on early voting numbers. I might make a lot of progress on the blanket.
