Two bears!

Two bears!

I finally got started sewing on Monty yesterday.  The first bear took over an hour and involved a lot of unsewing but the second one went much faster. I think it’s going to be a really cute quilt.

I also went to a sale and lecture on Navajo rugs.  It was very interesting and there was some beautiful Navajo silver jewelry.  It was difficult, but I left with my wallet in tack.

The sun is back out here today but I’m playing for everyone back East. I hope you get through the storm without any issues.

Looking forward to the completed bear quilt. I am making one by a different designer. Fun to do.

Cute bears! I forget – is this paper piecing?

So far, Roanoke didn’t get much snow, at least where we are. We got about 2 inches; higher elevations probably got more. Now we are supposed to get sleet and ice. The temps are really low – 14 degrees now at almost 1:00PM.

we got a lot less moisture than was predicted maybe 3 inches in the end and some sleet on top of that. It is the bitter cold that is bad here 12 two nights in a row and maybe 2 or so tonight and tomorrow – day time lucky to reach 20 for 4 days I think.

The first thing I saw was the bear’s nose – it makes a perfect chalice.
We have had rain but so far no issues with freezing – that could change tonight. The temp has dropped ten degrees since afternoon.

The bears turned out so cute! Now that you have a couple under your belt, the rest ought to go together easier. Patty

The hand dyed fabrics are perfect for the bears. So cute.

We were on the very northern edge of the storm in northern IL and only got an inch or so of snow. Chicago however had lake effect snow and got 10″. -3 this morning.
