48 blocks!

48 blocks!

Remember a few weeks ago when I started making crumb blocks with scraps from the Eclipse quilt? Mom has been staying with us since her eye surgery. She’s doing some sewing, so I didn’t want to get another project out. Instead, I’ve been slowly working on these little crumb blocks.

I got 48 blocks out of those scrappy bits! I also have plenty of large chunks of these fabrics leftover too. I think this one deserves to be a quilt instead of my original idea, placemats.

I’ll get out Electric Quilt soon and start doing some ideas for a quilt layout.

Meanwhile, I  have a possible vintage quilt repair for my cousin’s son.

Yard work is also taking up a lot of time. There’s lots and lots of leaf blowing, and we’re cutting some limbs and trees to try to get the jungle under control. The weather has been beautiful and perfect for being outside.

I love the crumb blocks. What size are they? I think they can be the basis for a really fun quilt.

I like to just let the leaves blow and be natural fertilizer as they disintegrate

Love the big gold tree in your yard! How are the fall colors out your way this year. They were kinda drab for the most part here. There are a few nice red maples here and there. I really like all your crumb blocks, they would make a nice complimentary quilt to your big beauty!

Those crumb blocks do need to be made into a quilt, for sure. And that gold tree is spectacular!!!

Such a pretty tree! Those crumb blocks will make a great quilt, even if all you do is sew them to each other!

Trees are changing color here too and the one across the street has dropped a lot of leaves already. The Redbuds usually have a day or two of dropping all of their leaves, like raining leaves.
