It was a very busy and productive weekend. I did a lot of different things, including some house purging. I’m determined to go through every closet and drawer and purge mercilessly. Of course, that doesn’t necessarily include craft spaces.
Sometimes, I have a morbid thought about what people would think if I died, and they had to go through my stuff. It makes me want to clear out. Plus, I feel like closets need breathing space. Mine had none until this weekend.
I made it through the bathroom (one bag of garbage), the coat closet (a pile of donations and another bag of trash) and the closet of Chris’ hunting and skiing supplies (a huge pile of donations and 1 bag of garbage). I have more to go, but the most ignored spaces are done. I’ve been through most of the rest in the past 5 years.
Anyway, back to fun things. I’m thrilled to report that the glass kiln still works! I always start with slumping some bottles. If they go bad, it doesn’t matter. They fired perfectly! This kiln was such a bargain!

I also dyed some toddler shirts for my grand-neice and some fat quarters for a future quilt. I’ll share these later in the week.

On the crochet front, I finished another wheelchair shawl. The tag is put on every donated item. I first found out about From The Heart from one of these tags on a surgery drain bag given to my Mom.

I spent last evening planning the next project. When I delivered items last month, I saw that they had a huge supply of shawls but very few wheelchair blankets. I’m going to work on a wheelchair blanket next. I swatched it up to test 2 different hook sizes. I’ll provide some details after I get it started.

Finally, I tested another gluten-free sourdough recipe. Actually, I tested 2. The sourdough discard breadsticks were HORRIBLE! Cardboard would have been tastier. But the sourdough English muffins are delicious. I will definitely make these again.
Today, we are off to shop for new recliners, and then I may prepare some new things to fire in the kiln. I hate shopping, so I’m hoping we quickly find what we want
