I got the two quilts quilted, but is was uncharacteristically challenging. This one was made by Anne. I kept having issues with thread shredding. At first, I thought it was because of the batik fabric. I tried a new needle and checked the timing.
In the end, I think it was the dark brown thread. Once I started applying thread lubricant before each row, it started working great.

It took twice as long as it should have. This one is one that I made, and I’ll get the binding on soon.

After I quilt the veterans’ quilts, I trim them. None of the trimmings go to waste. I chop up the batting for pet beds. The fabric scraps are saved, and other members take them for sashing for more quilts.
This weekend is going to be a bit social, but I hope to get 2 more quilts loaded for quilting.
