A crochet weekend

There was a lot of football this weekend. My Hokies got their first and possibly last win. There’s too much turmoil in that program right now. My Eagles decided to make their win as stressful and exciting as possible.

I watched a lot of football, so I didn’t get much quilting done. Instead, I crocheted.

I made the least progress on this wheelchair shawl because I wanted to finish the 2 chenille scarves.

I really,  really don’t like working with this yarn. I bought it a few years ago for another project and abandoned it.  When From The Heart made a call for scarves for local homeless organizations, I thought I could use it up. I had 7 skeins and used all of it in 2 scarves that finished 8″ wide and about 60″ long. I did them in linen stitch with an L hook.

They turned out quite nice and will be very warm.

I also made some progress on the big blanket. When it’s done, it will have 5 repeats of the orange/gray section separated and bordered with the tan. There’s a long way to go on this one!

I did get the house quilt loaded and did some SID to stabilize it.  I’ll get started quilting today after a weeding session outside.

I watched some football too this weekend. Saturday Notre Dame trounced Purdue. Sunday was the Browns, then I just kept watching whatever game they would break into next. There seem to be a lot of games where a kick was blocked and then the ball picked up by the defense and run for a TD to win the game. I think I saw that two or three times.

You did great using up that chenille yarn. I am loving that quilt on the frame. The colors and design just seem really happy to me.

I bet the chenille scarves feel wonderful. Too bad the yarn is a pain to work with.

We’re not football fans but surely do love watching the Blue Jays baseball. You’ve made good progress on your crochet projects. (ps. finally got notification that the last part of the fabric I need for the fusion quilt is on the way).
