Veterans quilts!

I’m so happy to have something different to share! I got the 2 veterans quilts quilted yesterday. This one was made by Estelle.  We’ll have a lot of these coming in soon because there’s been a year-long block exchange going on with these blocks.

This one was made by my Mom. She’s a master of scrappy quilts. The tan in this is leftover packing fabric from previous veterans quilts.

I quilted them with a wavy pattern and medium green thread.

Today I’ll be sewing with my quilt club and piecing another veterans quilt.

I love that tan “leftover backing fabric” – I was going to mention that yesterday when they were on the frame. It is just a really good neutral.

Have fun quilting with your group! This is a nine patch block right? I found a bunch of tan muslin in my stash that would work up great with a bunch of my scraps for donation quilts. Time, I just need more time!!

Someone will love these. I do like scrappy quilts because they always remind me of my grandmothers.
