This post is all about a hike, there’s no fiber content. So, skip this post if not interested.

Our favorite hike in Acadia is the Pemetic Loop. It’s about 2.5 miles with over 1000 feet of elevation gain. Ian says that we hiked 15,000 steps, and we all felt it. The views along the way and at the top are fabulous.

The trail starts at Jordan Pond and heads out on a very civilized route with granite steps.

But it’s not long until the fun climbing begins.

Some of it is on steep granite slabs.

There are great views along the way to force us to take a moment for some rest.

More climbing, but we’re near the top!

The views are spectacular!

The route down is Rockies and steeper.

There’s even a ravine section with ladders.

The giant boulder field is my favorite part. Yes, this is the trail!

At the end, we are rewarded with a pleasant walk around Jordan Pond.
It’s the best hike to end our trip. Today, we’ll head into Bar Harbor to walk across the bar, get some breakfast, and do some shopping. After that, we will be packing to head home tomorrow morning.
I hear that the weather at home will be beautiful next week!
