Just a hiking report

Just a hiking report

Today, I only have a hiking report. I did do some sewing in the afternoon, but I didn’t finish the blocks. They will be done today, and I’ll have a photo tomorrow.

We had another beautiful day yesterday.  Chris,  Ian and I headed out early for a hike. We chose Bald Peak and Parkman Mountain.  It’s about 3 miles with an elevation gain on 761 feet, a moderate hike for Acadia.

We like it for the amazing views and varied terrain.  There’s lots of rock scrambles, granite paths, tree roots, and rocky paths.

There are also several glacial erratics dropped in random spots.

We also spotted this mushroom. Google is telling me it’s the Red-bellied Polypore and that it’s traditionally used in medicine as an anti-inflammatory.

Today, I’ll be getting the last of my star blocks finished so that I can get the quilt off the floor.  We had a guest arrive last night and another tonight. I need the design floor bedroom for Caroline.

Wow, the views there are lovely. That mushroom is quite interesting. I am sure that I have never seen one of those.

Another beautiful mushroom – it’s amazing how many different varieties there are. And those views are utterly spectacular!
