Belfast and Acadia

This was our last sunset in Wilton,  ME. We had a perfect vacation there. Sadly, the owners are considering an annual lease offer for next year, so we might not be able to stay again. I’ve got my fingers crossed that it fall through!

I did finish the second set of star blocks before we did our last evening kayak.

I even finished a cone of thread. Not to worry,  I have more thread with me!

We had to kill a couple of hours before we could check in to the Acadia house, so we stopped off in Belfast, ME. What a cute town! There are lots of neat shops downtown and there’s a nice walk along the waterfront. I took this photo from a bridge over the Union River, looking back toward town.

One of the cool things is that you walk through an active shipyard and can see lots of yachts and sailboats being worked on.

We got to watch them pull this boat out.

The town even has a very nice fabric store. I picked up a tote bag pattern and some pins. I’ve bent all of my pins working on the Eclipse quilt.

We arrived at the Acadia house around 4:30 and this will be the view for the next two weeks. The weather is looking good for as long as you can trust a forecast.

During the drive, and in the evening while waiting for our friends to arrive.  The end is in sight for this project! I only have about 9″ left to go.

I think today we will likely do our traditional first hike on Beech Mountain, and I need to get some sourdough going to make bread tomorrow.

It would be sad if you couldn’t stay there next year. I appears to be suce a perfect place of you and Chris.

I hope you get to stay there again next year. If not, perhaps there’s another place nearby you could find.
