Critter day

Critter day

Yesterday was another hot day that was perfect for lake floating. I took a long walk in the morning and then settled in to sew and listen to a book until floatie time. But the day was notable as “critter” day. Around dinner time we saw a mink swimming in the lake. Then, in the evening, I was crocheting on the screened porch when this little guy walked right in front of me.  I think he was checking out the grill smells from dinner. I didn’t startle him, so it was just a friendly visit.

Just before cocktail hour, I finished the first 8 of 24 little star blicks.

The star blocks look great. I really need to try paper piecing again.

I have never seen a living skunk. I might have been so surprised that I would have startled him.

Oh, no, a skunk! Good thing he was just ambling by!

Nice that the skunk continued on his merry way. We often saw them at our previous house. Once there was a family of three little ones…so cute.
