We continue to be very blessed with the most amazing weather here in Maine. Things are heating up this week though. The locals are complaining but it’s not bothering us at all. There’s nothing better than getting out the floats and cooling off in the lake. The night temperatures are very comfortable for sleeping so we’re happy campers.

On Saturday we went to visit friends near Bath. They live on an old apple orchard and have 100 apple trees on their beautiful property! That was a fun visit.
Other than that little getaway, Chris has been fishing, we have been kayaking and floating and I have been working on my quilt. I finished the C blocks. They are the same as the A blocks except for the background.

Here’s have the center spread out. I am so happy with how it’s looking! I think this might be the last time I get to lay things out until I get home.

Next up are the D blocks, circled in aqua. There are 16 of them and I think they will take a while. The E blocks are circled in yellow. They have the same star element. The border is F and I don’t see myself getting to them on this trip. Once we get to Acadia we will have friends visiting so my sewing time will be limited. But I still have 4 days here to try to get the D blocks done.

One thing I’ve gotten a little fixated in are the sunfish that hang around our dock. I decided that I wanted to feed them. I asked Grok for suggestion of things that I might have in the cupboard. Grok suggested oatmeal and bread. Well, the oatmeal was entertaining. They would eat it and immediately spit it out. It was funny to watch. They wouldn’t touch the bread. We next tried some chopped turkey, which was a little more palatable. But the turkey brought a crayfish out from under the rocks and he finished off all of the turkey bits.
Next, I decided on some legit fish food so off I went to Walmart and bought some tropical fish food. They wouldn’t touch it. The last try was dried crickets. If I soak them to soften them up, they seem to like them. I’ve never seen such picky fish!

The Loon family is hanging around every day. Saturday evening we went out to kayak and one of them came within 10 feet of my kayak. Of course, I didn’t have my phone with me to get a photo! But I got this Sunday evening while I was watching the two adults feed the baby.

Today, will start with a morning kayak ride and then back to working on my quilt.
