We started out day yesterday with a kayak ride in the morning. I’ve been taking it easy on that because I’ve been dealing with some hip pain for over a month. I’m pretty sure is a recurring piriformis muscle problem. It nags me from time to time and it tends to pull my SI joint out of whack. I was seeing the chiropractor before we left but it still wasn’t quite right.

Well, we came back from kayaking and I decided that I wanted to get a different kayak from the 6 that we have available to choose from. Chris helped me drag them around and once I had my new one selected I promptly tripped over the kayak rack and fell square on my left hip. I got a giant bruise on my right leg and my left wrist is a little sore but my hip seems to be fixed! I just needed the right kind of adjustment! I put some DMSO on my bruise and wrist and they are doing great and my hip is ready to kayak again today, Now, if I could just remember how to do that in the future I could save a fortune in chiropractor bills.

After that excitement we went to Walmart and then I was able to get back to sewing. I got the points added to all of the “A” blocks from Monday.

Then I got to work on the B1 blocks. The first step is to fold along all the sewing lines. That takes forever! The next longest task is getting the first two pieces lined up and ready to sew. I got that done and I was sort of over this project for the day. I’ll start sewing today.
That cutting mat is one of the things we picked up at Walmart, along with fishing supplies for Chris. I brought a 12″ square mat with me and it’s just not sufficient. I hate buying sewing supplies that I don’t really need but avoiding frustration was worth $12.

Right where we launch the kayaks is huge water field of Pickerelweed and Waterlilies. I waded out and got these photos today.

In the afternoon, we got out the chair floats and watched the Loons on the lake. After we came in they got closer to our dock and we watched an adult feed a baby. Grok tells me that it’s the male that does most of the feeding. Males and females look alike so there’s no way I’d know for sure.

After that I finally got started on the new wheelchair blanket. I made a couple of different swatches over the past 2 days and settled on this pattern. The other one I tried was just too thick and heavy. This one has some holes so it will be a good fiddle blanket too. It’s working up really quickly, just the way I like my crochet projects!

Here’s a close up where you can see the openness of the pattern.
Today should be another beautiful day like yesterday with kayaking, sewing, floating and crochet. Perfect.
