We left Virginia Thursday morning and were very lucky to avoid the bad storms that passed around us.

Our first stop was the brand new Buc-ee’s in Harrisonburg, VA. It was a huge deal when it opened in June. These places have the cleanest bathrooms anywhere.
From there, we drove through the tips of West Virginia and Maryland, through beautiful Pennsylvania and spent the night in Fishkill, NY. Yesterday, we had about 6 and a half hours to get to our destination.

It was 74 degrees and we couldn’t wait to get on the dock.

On the drive, I worked on two projects. I added about 5 inches to the scarf and finished a ball of yarn. These cables go a little slow, but I’m happy with the progress. I think I have about 15 inches left to go.
I apologize for the bad photos on these projects. I waited until after sunset, and the interior lighting was quite yellow.

I made more progress on the shawl. Double crochet is easier than cables! I think I’m done with the increase rows and am ready for the granny stitch rows.

Today, we will walk into town for the blueberry festival, play in the lake, and I’ll get my sewing space set up. I’ll also feed my sourdough started and get prepped for making some bread tomorrow. It’s supposed to be a beautiful day.
