Quilt Club

Quilt Club

Yesterday was a meeting day and laundry day. I didn’t get any sewing done because my 2 piecing machines are in the shop. My brother machine has an OK 1/4 foot but it doesn’t love piecing.  The 4th machine, a Janome, has more of a 3/8″ foot.

I was wondering why I was feeling so discombobulated lately and realized it was because I didn’t have any veterans quilts to quilt.

Quilt club to the rescue! I picked up 6 tops for quilting. Brenda will probably take 2 of them, and I’ll have 4 to quilt. That will help my mood.

I also have 6 finished quilts to start the next stash for delivery in September.

During the meeting we were getting storm warnings. I got home in time to see this cool sky. It was rolling in just at sunset, so the sky was beautiful.

Today I’m making soap and more sourdough bread, but I should be able to get the new quilt tops paired up and matched to backs.

I have pieced on a lot of machines, but my favorites have been my Juki and my Kenmore/Janome (a small machine.)

I need to make soap if I can ever find the time. Now that Mom has Home Health and PT coming (3 total visits a week) a lot of my “free time” is spent there for those visits.

Can’t have you without projects to quilt! Bad timing to have both your ‘good’ piecing machines at the spa but at least now you have something to do.

I’m Vicki

I’m Vicki Welsh and I’ve been making things as long as I can remember. I used to be a garment maker but transitioned to quilts about 20 years ago. Currently I’m into fabric dyeing, quilting, Zentangle, fabric postcards, fused glass and mosaic. I document my adventures here.
