I can’t believe it but I got the entire Eclipse quilt cut out this weekend! Now, it’s the only thing I did for 3 days but I stuck with it and got it done and packed up, ready for the Maine trip in August.

The Quiltworx pattern instructions are VERY detailed, starting with the cutting. Pattern sections are identified in groups. For example, the center start is a group of 8 foundations with all of these pieces. I clip each part together and put the group of parts in a labeled bag.

The first group took the longest as I got used to the way that the instructions are worded and organized. But, after Group A, the others were pretty straight forward, except for the little stars around the center medallion. They just took a lot longer.

By 9:00 last night, I had all the pieces cut, clipped together and bagged.

I used every quilt clip, every binder clip and almost every paperclip in my house. This one paper clip is all that’s left unless there are some hidden under a chair somewhere. Hopefully I won’t need any before September.

I pulled out my Add-A-Quarter rulers and glue sticks so that I don’t risk forgetting them next month. Everything, including the extra fabric, is packed in the bag at the beginning of the post. All I need is my sewing machine, travel sewing kit and some thread. I’m very excited to work on the project on vacation!
Next I will get a couple of veterans quilts quilted and start working on the new jacket pattern.
