Vacation continues to go swimmingly but today I’ll take a blog break to share some crochet fun.
Laura and I picked up this book at a local little free library. It was published around 1985 and I think that it might have been a monthly subscription for a packet of patterns. We had a good laugh going through them and I thought some of might get a kick out of them too.
Amigarumi has really improved on that train!
We’re off for another hike this morning and I’m still working on my crochet projects.

Oh heavens, those awful colors!! Did anyone actually make a crochet silverware holder? I don’t think I would have worn any of those designs! But we did wear a lot of crocheted vests!

Oh my! Those remind me of patterns in magazines in the 70s. I did crochet some crazy stuff.

Seeing these reminds me of when I was a teenager and decided my two favourite uncles really *needed* crocheted vests for Christmas. They were good sports (why they were my favourites!) and modeled them on Christmas day. Don’t suppose they ever saw the light of day afterwards. At least I made them plain coloured and NOT granny squares.

The Quick n’ Easy Crochet is too funny! Probably most of the projects are neither quick nor easy. The sweaters on the right in the third row look decent, though.

I realized I could click on the thumbnails to enlarge the photos, and actually I think the sweater vest on the left in the last row is kind of nice, but would be better if it was shorter and not tied with those clunky crochet ties but maybe closed with a few buttons or partial seaming – ?
