Fishes

Yesterday was a rainy and cloudy day but we eventually caught a break and got out on the water.

I saw several loons and finally found the eagle’s nest that our hosts told us about.  Chris spotted one on the eagles a couple of days ago but I haven’t been graced with it’s presence yet.

A rainy day is still a good day. It was a great day for sewing! I now have 3 of 7 sets of fish done.

These are set into rows and I’ll use 5 fish in each row for the big quilt.  I’m going to have lots left over for smaller quilts.

Here are the 3 sets so far.

Odd numbered rows swim to the left abdomen even rows swim to the right. I think with the third set you can start to see the gradient effect in the background.

Here are 3 in a stack.

Row 4 will show the gradient better.

Today Chris is on a fishing charter so I’m on my own. If the weather clears I’ll walk to town to visit the one gift shop and a little grocery store.

As I’m writing this I saw the hopeful sliver of blue sky above the mountains.

Maybe I’ll get some time in the sun.

Those dull skies will make you appreciate colourful fishes even more!

The more i see of these fish, the more i am looking forward to seeing the full top. I don’t recall it having any sashing in the original layout. I think that would be trickier with the gradient background.

You are lucky you can take your sewing and have a place to set it up so you can pass the rainy days away and be productive. The fish are looking good.
