Back on task

I took Ella home Thursday and I was apparently tired because I did a lot of nothing Friday. On Saturday I watched Independence Day celebrations all day and sone football. The football has gotten me back to doing some crochet and the wheelchair blanket is almost done.

Every day I’ve had to clean up branches in the yard from wind damage. We had the biggest storm yesterday so there’s more work to do this week.

I can do the one on the left myself but the right one will take a real chainsaw and maybe a professional.  It’s too humid to deal with either today so they will just remain lawn ornaments for the time being.

Yesterday I got back to the longarm and finished up the ditch quilting on Eclipse.

Now that it’s done I  can zip this quilt off and quilt a couple of veterans quilts for a break.

I’m quilting Eclipse with different color threads, top and bottom and the tension is working out good, mostly.

You may remember that the back is such a different color because I’ll use the quilt backside up occasionally as a background to display another quilt.

There are a few “bad” spots that I’ll frog while the quilt is off the frame.

I’ll mark them in some way, reload the quilt and fix them before I move on to filler quilting, the fun part.

We are also starting a house painting project.  I’m doing the trim and will get started on that today. Maybe I’ll have some time to get these veterans quilts loaded before the USA game tonight.

you are busy this hot summer. A child in the house when you are not used to it can wear you out for sure. sorry you had branches down, I hate it when that happens

Yes, as Karen said, a young one can wear you out. I think that is why we are designed to have children when we are young. (Of course, I say that while having my 90 year old “toddler” to deal with.)

I have a quilt in progress that needs some frogging when my tension got off. But right now I am still “busy” making altered books – and I don’t want to set it up to do it.

My goodness, you are busy! Sorry about the tree damage. We have a painter coming today to do some doors and trim we’ve had replaced. Maybe, finally, all the remodeling will be done after that.

I love the green and white blanket. Those were our school colors in high school.

The trim work is slow and meticulous. I used to do all of my own painting from the time I was 16. Have fun!
