Happy Birthday America!

Thanks to the Bicentennial, 50 years ago, we had a huge resurgence of quilting in this country. For that, we quilters can be grateful. I feel lucky and grateful to have been born an American.

I intend to do some sort of sewing or crochet today while I watch the festivities that will be happening in Washington DC. It’s supposed to set a new record for the largest fireworks display ever.

Happy Independence Day to my fellow Americans. For everyone else, please bear with us and maybe enjoy some World Cup soccer on TV.

I hope the fireworks will not cause too much smoke in the air out there – that is a lot of fireworks – I will watch our neighbors light some off from across the country road here and maybe catch some on tv.

We had quite a display in my neighborhood. I watched a bit out the windows. Some of it was spectacular.
