Check out our recent porch visitor! We’ve had so much nature to watch this month with birds fledging, hawks, herons, a white skunk, a fawn and now a raccoon.
June was a weird month with the little construction project going on in the house. What should have been a 1 week diversion turned into 2. As I said before, it’s fine. I was just grateful to find someone willing to come do this little job.
My goals for June were:
– finish the Trailside quilt – (done)
– quilt 6 veterans quilts – (2 done because I started quilting Eclipse)
piece a veterans quilt using the new travel machine (I used, and love, the new machine)
do something with the Month/Trailside scraps -( a new top is done)
– start a quilt with feedsack fabrics – (kit is cut)
– start a quilt with symmetry fabrics – (not even thought about)
Let’s take a look:
Trailside is done and on a guest bed, I quilted 2 veterans quilts and made 6 pet beds for donation.

I think the best part of the month is the projects that got underway.

I finished a top using up more of the Monty scraps, cut out a whole feedsack quilt to sew on vacation and started quilting Ecipse. I still have Monty and this new scrap quilt to quilt. Once I get the ditch quilting done on the Eclipse quilt I’ll take it off for a little while so I can quilt a few veterans quilts. I have one more quilt that I want to cut out to take on vacation.
As I write this I’m having Craft Camp with Ella this week. This girl crafts with a mission! You are going to be surprised at all she finished while here. I’ll take her home tomorrow and I’ll miss her.
My goals for July are:
- Finish the ditch quilting on Eclipse
- Cut out the fish quilt
- quilt some veterans quilts
- make potholders
- finish a crochet project
- make postcards for brothers birthdays
I’m sure I’ll come up with some other things to do in July but, aside from the potholders, I don’t have anything else planned yet.
