More veterans quilts

This weekend I got the two veterans quilts quilted. These are the last until the meeting tomorrow night. I’m sure to pick up more then.

This one was made by my Mom from one of the kits that I cut earlier this year. Tomorrow I’m posting instructions for this quilt on our quilt club blog. There are tons of free tutorials on the web for chandelier quilts, this one will be for our specific veterans quilt size.

Both quilts are quilted with a star motif using medium blue thread.

This next quilt was made by Peg. I don’t know the pattern but it’s very striking in patriotic fabric. I think my photo might be upside down.

I made a few more blocks for the Monty leftovers quilt. I want 12 block total for a veterans quilt.

I also started cutting the vacation sewing kit. All of the feedsack fabrics are cut for the flowers and border.

I have enough of the border pieces that I could sacrifice one if I discovered that I miscut something. Next I’ll cut a variety of greens for the leaves and then the background.

I haven’t been doing any crochet lately. Summer just feels too hot to crochet even though it’s a comfortable 75 inside.

Today I’m doing some yard work and then I’ll make some more gree blocks and cut out some leaves.

I don’t think my quilt has an up or down! It’s from “Go Bold With 3-Yard Quilts” and is called High Rise. I did the math slightly wrong when re-sizing for a veterans quilt, but I thought it worked anyway.

Nice work for your weekend. I love your mom’s Chandelier quilt.
