May In Review, June Goals

May was very longarm focused and, even with a week of vacation, I got a lot done. My goals were:

  • Quilt at least 6 more veterans quilts
  • Finish one veterans quilt of my own
  • Make postcards for Mother’s Day and birthdays
  • Put the Monty scraps quilt together (brown and green scraps – this quilt needs a name)
  • Quilt one of the 4 other quilts that I have in the closet.

Starting with the quilts that I finished. I finished on veterans quilt of my own and one scrap quilt that will be donated to the local women’s shelter.

Then I just quilted as many veterans quilts as I could get done. Eight in all!

I got a few other things done as well. 5 each of 2 postcard designs and some shirts for Cora using the Cricut.

I’m making slow progress on crochet projects but it’s not really crochet season because I’m not watching anything on TV. I work on it a little each week.

I also got the Trailside quilt top pieced and it’s on the longarm today. My goal is to get it done by Thursday. My big even for June is “craft camp” with Ella. We need to get busy planning her projects.

Year to date stats:

Quilts – 2
Veterans quilts made – 5
Donation lap quilts –
Veterans quilts quilted – 20
Fabric Postcards – 10
Quilted for others – 1
Crochet blankets – 2
Crochet shawls –
Crochet hats – 5
Crochet other items – 5
Crochet/loom knit hats and scarves – 1
Cricut projects – 8
Other items – 20

My goals for June are:

  • quilt and bind the Trailside Quilt
  • quilt 6 veterans quilts
  • piece a veterans quilt top using my new travel machine
  • do something with the Monty/Trailside scraps
  • start a quilt with feedsacks
  • start a quilt with symmetry fabrics
