In case you are wondering, we are having a great time at the beach. The weather has been hot and sunny and playing with 2 year old, Cora, has been a blast. This post is about some things I did before we left for the beach.
I have a lot of birthdays and Mother’s Day in May so I made 2 designs a couple of weeks ago but I couldn’t share them until now. First up is the cactus.

This one was so much fun to make! Of course, it was inspired by our time in Arizona this winter. One of my “ugly” hand dyes was actually perfect for the background. I even got to use some of the special stitches on my sewing machine.

I made 5 of these. One was sent for Mother’s Day and one to my brother. I have 3 left for other birthdays.
Next up was the cat.

At quilt club we are always getting donations of stashes of deceased quilters. I know that any of you in quilt groups experience this also. I rarely take anything but one of my friends made me take this pack of pre-cut cats because they are the perfect size for postcards.

I had 2 postcard bases with this background that I tried for another idea. That idea failed but the cats looked cute on it. I cut faces on the Cricut and fused then on to add some personality. I think they are quite cute.
I did 2 with the pieced background and 3 with a stripe background.

I made 5 total of the cats too and have only mailed 1 so far so I have 4 left for some of the birthdays that I have this summer.
I also have a bunch of the die cut cats left if anyone wants them. I’ll be happy to mail them in the USA.
