Some sewing,  finally!

I packed up my sewing supplies and this kit and headed off to sew with my friends.  This kit has enough fabric cut for 2 quilts.

I started by making just one block to make sure that I cut the fabric correctly.  Then I sewed all the strips together and got half of them cut. By the time I left I  think I had 6 blocks done. It’s possible that I can get one top together today.

Back at home, I  got out the Go cutter to help me tame the hand dyed scraps. Right now it just looks like an out of control mess.

I only have this much left….less than half of what I started with. Once this is all cut I’ll start making some kits from these pre-cuts. I should be able to clear this pile tonight.

It’s a little chilly here but the daffodils are starting to bloom and brighten things up.

daffodils and quilt tops – what’s better. I will be trying to get a flower bed cleaned out today, we have had such a drought though I wonder if I will get the weeds out easily, I will probably need a trowel to help did them out.

I like this! I made a similar one years ago … should probably think about making another one.https://maryquilts.com/rwb-rail-fence/

Which dies did you use to cut your hand dyed fabric?

Our daffodils bloomed a few weeks ago -in the first false spring. I don’t know if they will bloom again.
Those hand dyes will make a lovely scrappy quilt.

Looks like you’ve made good progress with your sewing. And those daffodils – so pretty! This morning we’re dealing with yet more snow and now freezing rain. Enough already!!!

Pretty daffodils! I had a few more blooms appear, but three nights in the 20s have killed them off, along with the beautiful pink blooms on the redbud tree.
