August is vacation month and we’ve been having quite a wonderful vacation but I had a week before we left to finish up several projects.

First, six more veterans quilts got quilted

Then I finished 48 potholders. Some were started in July but most were finished in August the week before we left.

I’ve been busy on vacation too. I usually travel with my sewing machine and always travel with a crochet hook. I finished one lap blanket, several hats (no photo yet), all of the blocks for my fish quilt and started the Fleurette quilt blocks. I also started crocheting a Virginia Tech themed baby blanket.

Lastly, but probably most importantly, I made birthday cards for my Mom and my brothers.

We will not get home until the 12th so I’ll have more concentrated time here to work on Fleurette and my crochet projects. I’m trying to get a batch of hats done so that I can donate them here locally. After I get home my goals for September are:

  • finish the Fish and Fleurette quilt tops
  • quilt the Monty quilt (that will leave me 3 quilt tops of my own to quilt)
  • start a baby quilt that’s due in December
  • arrange to get my kiln fixed so I can start working glass again
  • quilt veterans quilts

I’ve been enjoying your scenes of the wonderful lake in Maine, and your fun activities. You’ve been amazingly productive before you left, too!
