Upcoming projects and the big quilt

It’s time to start doing the real quilting on Mom’s quilt. I realized that I needed a full photo so I  unzipped it from the longarm leaders and brought it to my back porch studio. (I do mop the decking before I put a quilt on it.)

We have a second story porch that’s perfect for getting the shot.

I print off photos and put the in sheet protectors to draw out some ideas. I don’t have anything firm yet but the quilting will not be too dense (no fillers) and I’m leaning towards botanical rather than feathers. It will take me a couple of days to decide but then the quilting should go pretty quickly.

Meanwhile, I have some new projects planned.

I am awaiting a pattern for the leftovers of the Monty quilt. I have a lot of leftovers!

The triangle star book is for a new symmetry quilt idea and the Aussie fabric is for some placemats.

Tomorrow I’m going to meet up with a friend that I haven’t seen in many years. She and her husband have relocated to Richmond.

Hopefully, I’ll be ready to start quilting Sunday. I’ll see you Monday. I hope you have a great weekend.

The triangle star book looks interesting. I watched a video of the author making the “block” unit that is the basis of the quilt. Your porch is perfect for getting quilt shots.
