Ditch quilting is done

I finished all the ditch quilting on Mom’s quilt yesterday. After I  was done, I realized that I need to take the quilt off and get a full front photo so I  can figure out how I want to quilt it. I will do that today. It’s an easy thing to do since I have the quilt zipped to the leaders and now it’s completely stabilized.

Here’s a peek at the backing fabrics that she chose. The quilting won’t show on the back but it’s a  very pretty fabric.  I think it came from Backside Fabrics.

I also started pulling some possible threads. You can’t tell in the photo but there are 2 blues, 2 greens, a beige and a taupe. I’m leaning green at the moment.

In the evenings I’m trying to work away at the big blanket. Hot weather is coming so I need to get this wrapped up and switch to smaller projects.

Today is appointment and errand day. I don’t think I’ll get much done except photographing the quilt.

Having the quilt zipped to the leaders is great. It is nice for removing it quickly, but you could also use it as a way of switching between quilts if you needed to do another one in a hurry.

It’s going to be fun to see what designs you choose to use to finish it. I, too, vote for green.
