2 more kits

2 more kits

I only completed 2 more kits yesterday but I was really happy that I could purge some scraps from veterans quilt backs for both. In this first one, I devised a layout to use the chisel blocks. I had the beige scraps from quilting 6 veterans quilts that I was able to use for the back.

This one is a pattern that I’ve made before and really liked. The blocks and cornerstones will float on the light gray background. The gray is also leftover from 6 veteran quilt backs.

I barely put a dent in the hand dyed pre-cuts. I’ll see if I can do better today.

I rewarded myself by meeting some friends for a drink in the evening. We haven’t seen each other since December.  It’s a group that I worked with and we have been getting together monthly since I retired in 2010.

Today I’m doing a little planting, a friend is coming to use my Go cutter and I hope to put together 2 more kits.

I know you use the audiobooks. How is the best way to get access to them? A subscription service? What are your latest and greatest finds in audiobooks?

I’m looking forward to seeing the chisel pattern made up. I’m always looking for ideas for the chisel die.

I really like your design for the chisel die. That makes a really interesting block. I love using leftover pieces of backs for piecing new quilts.

You have some interesting designs coming up to work on. Using the die cutter must make the process so much easier. Curious to know…how many layers of fabric work with it?
