On our way home

On our way home

We really enjoyed our stay in Tucson. I feel bad for everyone who had to deal with the bad weather at home. If we had been home, we would have been stuck there for 2 weeks. Instead we got to rebuild our vitamin D stores and have some fun adventures.

The last adventure was a sunset horseback ride.  My horse was Ditto. Ditto was a bit of a laggard and loved to cut corners but she didn’t dump me so all was good.

I will offer this bit of advice. If you have a sprained ankle, do not go horseback riding.  It was quite uncomfortable and probably set my healing back a week or two. But, in the end, it was worth it for his view.

On the sewing front,  I got all of the tree blocks made! These came together really fast.

Here are a few bears and trees on the design floor to give you an idea for how they will look. We have sewing days coming up with my quilt club Wednesday and Thursday,  I’ll use that time to get the top together.

I also got the tiny HSTs sewn in pairs and a few sewn into 4-patches. I still don’t know what these will be but I’ll keep using them as leaders and enders.

One last thing before we go. The hummingbirds have hatched! Hopefully our friends will send up updates as they grow.

Today we will stop in Carlsbad so we can visit the caverns tomorrow and then it will be a dash for home.

The horseback ride sounds fun, though it’s too bad about your ankle. Hope it heals quickly. And safe travels back.

Glad you had a fun get away this winter. Your bears and trees are looking great. Safe travels and hope you don’t have any bad weather systems in your way.

How marvelous that you got to see the hummingbirds hatch before you left! It is amazing how much you use your feet and ankles while on horseback. I hope you can recover quickly once you get back home. Drive safely.
