A busy weekend

A busy weekend

The weather here un Virginia was beautiful this weekend. I got to enjoy some of it Saturday while visiting friends and family. Before Mom and I left, I  got 2 more quilts loaded and quilted half of the first one. I used the same brand of thread as the one that misbehaved Friday. I also used the same needle and pantograph. I haven’t had 1 problem! The issue was definitely the thread. The bad thread will either be relegated to piecing or be trashed. I have two lifetimes worth of thread, so it doesn’t matter.

Sunday was busy while I watched the Eagles lose…..they rightly deserved it. I made sourdough pretzels for the first time ever. I’m not sure they are worth the effort very often, but they are a nice occasional treat.

Then I made fresh granola for me and Mom.

I picked up some wine bottles from my friend and washed them yesterday.  I want to test the kiln since it hasn’t been fired up in 2 years. I have an idea for some Christmas gifts. First, I need to see if the kiln still works.

After the game, I felt the need to spend a little time outside.  Chris was going to pull this stump out for me, but I wanted to see if I could do it. It took a while, but I did it all by myself! Now we can plant something living in it’s place.

A great day ended with some crochet with the night game.

I will get back to the longarm today after errands.

You did, indeed, have a busy weekend. I am hoping that the kiln fires up and works properly for you.

Congrats on getting that stump out of the ground. I know that was hard work.
