No quilting

No quilting

I didn’t get any quilting done on my house quilt this weekend, but I will rectify that today.

I spent all day Saturday at the Montpelier Center. They are reviving and old tradition called Montpelier Day. The last one was in the 1990’s.  They even had a parade, and my college roommate’s mother was the Grand Marshall.  The building that is now the Montpelier Center was a community-built school from 1929 until the 1960s or 70s. She had been a principal at the school.

We were asked to participate to represent County School. Becky and I told people about our veterans quilt project. I took some fabrics and used the time to cut out a quilt kit.

The rest of the weekend involved watching football and crocheting. I made a lot of progress on the big blanket.

I even added a few rows to the shawl.

In this photo you can see the sparkles better.

I also spent some time thinking about starting new projects.  The Sparrow pattern is one I’m thinking about for blue fabrics, maybe with a pale background.  The bear one is one I’m considering for the Montpelier Center 2027 raffle quilt. The community around here is fixated on the growing local bear population, so I think this one would draw some interest.

The farm animal quilt is drawing a lot of attention and has made over $1300 so far. The drawing isn’t until Christmas.

Today is going to be quilting day. I need to get the houses done and move on to some veterans quilts

The bear design should be popular as a fundraiser but you know I love the birds. I’m glad the farm quilt is raising good money and hopefully it will make even more.
