Quilting houses

Quilting houses

I really enjoy quilting on the longarm. I find it really relaxing to be in the basement by myself,  listening to a book and quilting the afternoon away. The only stress I have is figuring out how to quilt a quilt. I’m just not creative at quilting design.

The house quilt has been no different.  I wanted to do something “light custom” but didn’t want it to take too long. As of Sunday, I was thinking of a bunch of different motifs for the houses. But I didn’t want to take away from the fun fabrics, and I didn’t want it to take forever.

This is what I came up with. It’s relatively easy, and I can use lots of different thread colors

I only have to do a few marks, and I’ve worked out the optimal quilting path.

Here are 2 blocks side by side. I think I’m going to like this just fine.

I’ll get back to it today after a chiropractor visit and going to vote. I think I’ll also dye some quilt backs today.

I do like what you are doing with the quilting. You know how I am, I would likely do a different roof on each house. Ha ha. For me, that is because I get bored quilting the same thing multiple times.

Glad you figured out a design for the house, now what will be in the backgrounds? Like you I really enjoy using my longarm and getting in the zone.

Looks like a great design but I wouldn’t want to be changing thread colours all the time (sez I, who does that very thing with all my landscapes)
